Renewing your current Australian adult passport
If you are an Australian adult citizen aged 18 years or over and have an Australian adult passport (valid for at least 2 years) which is current or has expired within the last 12 months, shows your current personal details, and is not damaged, you are eligible to apply for renewal of your Australian passport using a streamlined (PC7) process.
Applications may be lodged in person at the Embassy or by mail.
You may either:
- Complete an Australian Passport Application Online
Or
- Contact the Embassy to have the application form sent to you.
Please note:
The PC7 renewal service cannot be used for:
- renewing a passport which expired more than 12 months ago
- renewing a passport which has a seriously damaged biodata page
- children's renewals
- adults renewing a passport that was issued when they were under 18 years of age
- renewing a passport previously reported as lost or stolen
- requesting a renewal when the applicant also wants to change the name or other personal details printed on the biodata page in their passport
Ensure that you take note of the passport photograph size and quality requirements. If your photographs do not meet the criteria, your application will be rejected.
See here for fees and payment options
If you do not qualify to apply for your passport renewal using the streamlined PC7 form, please go to Applying for a First Australian Adult Passport Or A Child's Passport.
